There is a tradition of airing your tires down at the start of a trail.  This tradition is nearly as old as the sport of off roading itself.  Why would you air your tires down though?  When you let the air out of your tires, the tires will be better able to grip the terrain and have a larger area of tread to grip it with.  This leads to enhancements in the quality of the ride as well as with traction.

The cons of the Currie E-Z tire deflator include that it can only deflate a single tire at once.  It also has some interference problems with bead lock rings and you have to make sure that the Jeep is not moving in order to use it.

All said, this E-Z tire deflator that is made by Currie does give you the ideal balance between ease of use, price and speed.

You will be able to quickly air down large tires to pressures that are very low while you still have the ability to keep your eye on the pressure constantly with the gauge.  It also comes with a storage pouch.
